West Los Angeles Detectives Investigate Attempt Rape Incidents

Wednesday, February 24, 1999

West Los Angeles detectives are investigating two separate incidents where the suspect entered the residence and attempted to rape the occupants.

The first incident occurred in the 10900 block of Strathmore Avenue on Thursday, February 18, 1999 at 2:25 a.m. The second incident occurred in the 500 block of Midvale Avenue on Tuesday, February 23, 1999 at 2:00 a.m. Detectives are investigating a possible connection between the two incidents.

On both occasions, the suspect entered residential apartment dwellings through unlocked doors while the victims were sleeping. The suspect woke the victims up by sitting on the bed next to them and holding them down. When the victims fought back, the suspect fled the location.

The suspect is described as a male, White or Asian, between 5'8 and 5'10, with short hair.
