Child Abducted at School by Aunt

Los Angeles: On Friday, February 8th, 2002, Duana Simmons was routinely picking up her three children from elementary school when she was faced with every parent’s fear; one child was missing. School officials said that eight year-old Kevin Clarence Williams was taken from school by his aunt, suspect Ramona Williams, who did not have permission to remove the student from school.

Alerted by the child’s mother, Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the home of the missing child which is located on the 8900 block of South Broadway. Simmons told officers that suspect Williams is her sister-in-law and there is a family dispute in regards to the child’s welfare. Simmons said the child was taken once before, and that the child was taken to a relative’s house located in Long Beach. The child’s mother is in fear for her son’s safety.

Eight year-old Kevin Clarence Williams is described as a male Black, approximately 4’6" tall, and in reported good health. The young boy was last seen wearing blue khaki pants and a short sleeve navy blue pullover shirt, with red and white stripes. A photograph of the missing child is available at the Los Angeles Police Department’s, Media Relations Section, 213-485-3586.

Suspect Williams drives a white van with the words "BONSWI" printed on the right and left sides of the vehicle. A face of a tiger appears on the rear window of the van.
