"West Valley Community Police Station to Welcome Public"

 

What:
Los Angeles Police Department Semi- Annual Open House

When:
Saturday, March 2, 2002
10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Where:
Los Angeles Police Department, West Valley Area Community Police Station, 19020 Vanowen Street, Reseda, CA

Los Angeles: The public is invited to a special event showcasing the law enforcement facilities and selected police and fire equipment at the West Valley Community Police Station.

Attendees to the open function will be encouraged to explore the community station and jail, experience being in the command seat of a police helicopter, patrol car, and motorcycle, and meet members of the Los Angeles Police Department’s SWAT, K-9 and Mounted Horse Unit.

The West Valley Community Station is encouraging community families to attend and enjoy complimentary refreshments. Off-road vehicles and an LAPD funny car dragster will also be at the event for viewing. Special LAPD units, such as the Los Angeles Police Department’s Bomb Squad, will have a display available and all activities are free to the public.

In addition, members of the Los Angeles Police Department Recruitment Unit will be on hand to provide information on LAPD career opportunities, including LAPD reserve program and the renowned Explorer program.

This open house is an excellent opportunity to highlight the Los Angeles Police Department’s community policing efforts to the diverse communities they serve.
