Stabbing Death Investigation

 

Los Angeles: Central Area Homicide Detectives are investigating the stabbing death of a 41 year-old Hispanic man.

On February 21, 2004, at about 5:20 p.m., the victim was in the vicinity of 621 South Broadway in downtown Los Angeles. He was seen arguing with another man of unknown descent. The argument escalated and the suspect armed himself with a large knife. The suspect stabbed the victim once in the chest and ran away. The victim was taken to a local hospital by a Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Ambulance. The victim failed to respond to treatment and died at the hospital.

The motive for the stabbing is unknown at this time. The suspect and the murder weapon are outstanding at this time.

The victim's identity has been established but is being withheld pending notification to his family.
