Hollywood Date-Rape Suspect Arrested--Any Additional Victims Encouraged to Come Forward NR12057rf

Los Angeles: LAPD detectives have arrested a man in his early 30s who has sexually assaulted at least two women after taking them out on dates in the Hollywood area.

Between May 2009 and October 2010, Los Angeles resident Robert Aaron Stephens is suspected of sexually assaulting women at his residence after taking them out to various social functions and events in Hollywood.  His method has been to get them intoxicated and then take advantage of them.  Stephens is an actor who had frequented various Hollywood night spots during that time period.  He is described as a White male with brown hair and brown eyes.  He stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds.

The LAPD is asking for the public’s assistance to possibly identify any additional victims within or outside of the May 2009 to October 2010 time frame. Anyone who has information about these crimes or who may have been victimized by Stephens should contact LAPD Operations West Bureau Sexual Assault Detail Detective Roditis at 213-473-0447.  During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (877-527-3247).  Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (800-222-8477). Tipsters may also contact Crime Stoppers by texting to phone number 274637 (C-R-I-M-E-S on most keypads) with a cell phone.  All text messages should begin with the letters “LAPD.”  Tipsters may also go to LAPDOnline.org, click on "webtips" and follow the prompts.
