Dead Body Found at a Cemetery

Los Angeles: On Sunday, January 25, 2004, at about 8:40 a.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to a radio call at San Fernando Valley Cemetery for a "Possible Murder Investigation." Upon arrival, the officers were met by Los Angeles Fire Department Rescue Ambulance personnel who directed the officers to the deceased.

The deceased is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 25 years of age, 5’5", weighing 120 lbs. He was wearing a black vest, black pants, black shoes and a white long sleeve dress shirt. He appeared to be a restaurant or catering service employee.

The deceased was lying on top of a ground cover, next to building #102. Los Angeles County Coroners Office responded to the location. The cause of death is unknown pending an autopsy and robbery did not appear to be a motive.

Anyone with information is requested to call Foothill Area Detectives, at 818-834-3115. On weekends or during off-hours, call the 24-hour toll free number at the Detective Information Desk, at 1-877-LAWFULL (1-877-529-3855).
