Victim Murdered While Walking on Sidewalk

Thursday, July 22, 1999
On Wednesday, July 21,1999 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Ian Mejia, a male Hispanic, 28 years of age, was shot by unidentified suspect(s) as he walked on the 4500 block of Pinafore Street, Los Angeles. Mejia was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he succumbed to gun shot wounds. The motive why Mr. Mejia was shot has not been established.
The investigation is being conducted by LAPD Southwest Area Homicide Detectives Stan Evans and Bob Dinlocker. Anyone with information regarding this matter may contact Detectives Evans and Dinlocker at 213-847-1310.
