Suspect Arrested in November Murder Case

Friday, June 4, 1999

On November 4, 1998, at 10:40 p.m., Jamie Navaroli and April Mahoney were returning to their residence in the 23000 block of Ingomar Street in West Hills when they parked their car in the driveway and exited. They were approached by a lone male gunman who shot both of them. Navaroli died at the scene and Ms. Mahoney was transported to a local hospital where she expired on December 24,1998.

Following the murder of Navaroli, detectives identified the shooter as 34 year old Randall Bruce Williams. Williams was arrested and booked for the crimes on November 20, 1998.

On June 3, 1999, detectives arrested 35 year old Kenneth Charles Leighton at his Newhall residence for murder in connection with the deaths of Mr. Navaroli and Ms. Mahoney. He has been booked for murder at the West Valley Jail and is being held without bail pending arraignment next week.
