Homicide Investigation in 77th Street Area

"Homicide Investigation in 77th Street Area"

 

Los Angeles - On Monday, June 25, 2001, at approximately 1:25 a.m., the victim, was seen in the backseat of a maroon 4-door Chevrolet Impala. A witness was inside his delivery truck, stopped at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Florence Avenue, when he saw the victim in the back seat face down and not moving. The car was being driven by a male. At approximately 2:00 a.m., a passerby noticed the same car parked in the alley to the rear of 111th Street and Maie Avenue. At approximately 6:40 a.m. the passerby walked by the location for a second time and noticed the car had not moved. The passerby approached the car and saw a motionless body in the back seat of the car.

Los Angeles City Fire Department Rescue Ambulance responded and pronounced the victim dead at scene. The victim has been identified as Dennis Henderson, male Black, 33 years of age.

The motive and the cause of death are unknown.

The suspect(s) and weapon remain outstanding.
