Child Abduction Regional Emergency Alert Issued


"Child Abduction Regional Emergency Alert Issued"

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is requesting the assistance of the media to provide the public with the following information to assist law enforcement efforts in locating a child taken by his father.

On June 11, 2003, at about 7:15 p.m., the suspect, 32 year-old Khayri Shakur, went to his ex- wife's home in the 5700 block of Ruthelen street. The suspect engaged in an argument with a male who was visiting his ex-wife's brother at the location. At one point, the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the male several times. The suspect then took his son from the front yard and fled the location in a blue 1981 Buick Regal, California license plate of 4TWE294.

The suspect was described as a male Black, black hair, brown eyes, 5' 7", 175 lbs. The child's name is Khayri Shakur Jr. He is two years of age, about 3' tall and 40 pounds.
