7-Year-Old Boy Molested; Suspect Sought

Los Angeles: On Sunday, June 3, 2007, between the hours of 4 to 6 PM, the victim, a 7- year-old boy, was walking home from a store down the street from his home.

The suspect walked up behind the victim, covered the victim's mouth and told him to be quiet or he would kill him. The suspect then walked the victim approximately 60 feet to a building entryway, where he brutally sexually assaulted him. The suspect again threatened to kill the victim if he told anyone. The suspect ran to a red vehicle and drove away.

The suspect was described as a Male Hispanic, 20 to30 years of age, bald, with brown eyes. The suspect is 5' 7"
to 5' 9" and approximately 200 lbs. He has tattoos of firearms on his left arm and a naked lady on his upper right arm. The suspect was seen leaving the area in a red, 4-door compact vehicle.

Detectives and Hollenbeck personnel have canvassed the area for witnesses. They have reviewed sex registrant files and parolees, including Parole's high-risk sex offender global position system (GPS). The Cal Gangs computer database is being used in an attempt to identify the suspect. A Crime Analysis run has been conducted and no similar crimes have been reported in the area.

A composite sketch of the suspect has been prepared and Hollenbeck Area has conducted community notifications and outreach, including notifying the local schools and distributing the Community Alert. An alert was also sent out through the Department's e-policing Internet tool.

The attacker in this crime was very brazen. Based on the location and the time of the crime, detectives believe that someone may have seen this assault occur and may have gotten a good look at the suspect.
