LAPD Academy Graduation
WHAT: LAPD Graduation of 103 New Police Officers and 11 Reserve Police Officers

WHY: Two academy classes are graduating. Graduating officers of class 12-2007 have completed 1,064 hours of training in 28 weeks of training. The graduating members of class 1-2008 have completed 912 hours in 24 weeks of training. There are 87 males and 16 females in the graduating classes.
Two officers from the General Services Department and 11 Los Angeles World Airport Officers will also be graduating.
The ethnic breakdown of the classes is 27 Caucasians, 53 Hispanics, 10 African American, 5 Korean, 1 Chinese, 2 Japanese, 2 Filipino, 1 Vietnamese and 1 Asian Indian.
Additionally, 11 reserve police officers will graduate with the regular recruit class. These reserve officers, 11 males, have completed over 186 hours of training over the course of 16 weeks.
