Officer Shoots at Charging Dog
Los Angeles: On March 15, 2008, at around 9:00 p.m., Police Officer Alvaro Navarro and his partner were conducting an investigation of public drinking in the 700 block of East 75th Street, involving several violators.
When the officers walked towards the violators, they noticed that there was a large dog in the front yard. The dog suddenly charged the officers and Officer Navarro fired his duty weapon. The dog was struck with gunfire and was taken by Los Angeles County Animal Regulations personnel for treatment.
Police Officer Navarro has served with the LAPD for 8 years and 11 months.
