Program Advisor Stabbed to Death NR12120ne

Los Angeles.  Three students subdued and disarmed a suspect who was stabbing 49-year-old Dwayne Alexander in a dorm staff office.

On March 14, 2012, around 4:41 p.m., Hollywood patrol officers were called to the 1200 block of Lodi Place for a stabbing investigation. When officers arrived, they found the suspect, Job Corp student Freddy Leyva, being held down by students, and Job Corp staff member Dwayne Alexander lying on the floor suffering from stab wounds.

Los Angeles City Fire Department personnel responded and transported Alexander to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Suspect Leyva was taken into custody and has been booked for murder. His bail has been set at $1 million.
