Mid-Morning Shooting Leaves One Man Dead NR09374gb

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department is seeking the public’s help in searching for the suspect(s) responsible for the shooting death of 35-year-old Antonio Arenas, a resident of Sylmar.

On Friday, July 31, 2009 at around 10:24 a.m., Mission area officers responded to an “ambulance, assault with a deadly weapon” call in the 12900 block of San Fernando Road.  When officers arrived, they discovered Arenas lying in the roadway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.   Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced Arenas dead at scene.

The motive for the shooting is unknown. The suspect(s) have not been identified.
