Domestic Violence Murder Attempt Suicide Investigation

Sun Valley - On December 20, at 6:00 a.m., North Hollywood patrol officers responded to an ambulance cutting call in the 8800 block of Morehart Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered two persons lying in the master bedroom. Both had been stabbed and were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The female victim was pronounced dead at 6:58 a.m.

Subsequent investigation revealed that 38-year-old Edwin Rolando Sis became involved in a Domestic Violence incident with his 27-year-old wife, Ingrid Alvarado. He armed himself with a knife and stabbed her multiple times in the upper torso. He then turned the knife on himself and punctured his chest with a single stab wound. His condition is listed as stable and he will be booked for the murder when he is medically able to be transported. There were two children in the home at the time of the incident, a 5-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son. They were not injured and have been placed in protective custody.

North Hollywood Operations Support Detectives are conducting the investigation.
