"Drive-By Shooting Leaves One Dead; Thirteen Year Old Girl Wounded"

 

Los Angeles: On October 13, 2002, at 1:00 a.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to a radio call to investigate the report of shots being fired in the 12200 block of Osborne Street. The location is a public lot that overlooks the Hansen Dam Recreation Area. Upon arrival at the scene the officers were directed to two victims of gunshot wounds.

Alejandro Jado, a 23 year old resident of Van Nuys, was pronounced dead at the scene. A thirteen year old female had sustained gunshot wounds to both legs and was transported to a local hospital where she is recovering.

The investigation has revealed the suspect(s), who have not been identified, drove by the location and opened fire on a group of individuals standing in the parking lot. At this time, no motive has been established.

The investigation is being conducted by the Foothill Homicide Detective Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call 818-834-3115 during business hours and during off-hours the number is 818-756-8861.
