LAPD Valley Traffic Division Conducts Traffic Awareness Details

"LAPD Valley Traffic Division Conducts Traffic Awareness Details"

Los Angeles: In an effort to increase public awareness and address the concerns of the community, the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division will host two separate events; a safety enforcement class and a crosswalk enforcement detail.

The safety enforcement class will take place on Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. This class will be conducted at Napa Elementary School, located at 19010 Napa Street, in the City of Northridge. This class will take place during the school’s scheduled Fire Drill and Assembly. This class is designed with the goal for participants to gain awareness on traffic-related incidents around the school.

The crosswalk enforcement detail will take place on Thursday, October 31, 2002, from 7:00a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The detail will focus enforcement and education efforts at the intersection of Tampa Avenue and Saticoy Street (between Shirley Avenue and Calvin

Avenue). This enforcement activity is part of our heightened Traffic Awareness Plan to reduce pedestrian involved traffic collisions.

Any questions regarding these events can be addressed to Sergeant Dale Turner at 818-902-0336.

This media advisory was prepared by Public Information Officer Lucy Diaz, Media Relations Section, 213-485-3586.
