Partygoer Fatally Shot by Gang Member

Los Angeles: Police are looking for a suspect who fatally shot a Sun Valley man outside of a party last night.

The incident unfolded around 11:40 p.m., in the 17800 block of Arvida Street in Granada Hills. According to investigators, Santos Castillo, 25, was attending a party when a suspected gang member walked up to him and started arguing. The heated dispute spilled outside of the party and on to the sidewalk. During the argument, the man pulled out a handgun and shot Castillo in the chest and leg.

Castillo was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Castillo was not a known gang member, police said.

Detectives haven't determined what prompted the argument.
