Four Shot, Two Killed in Pacoima

Los Angeles: On Thursday, September 5, 2002, at 2:09 a.m., Foothill Area patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 10900 block of Jamie Avenue in Pacoima. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers were directed to four shooting victims. One of the victims, Akida Clay, a 25 year-old resident of Pacoima, was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other shooting victims were transported to local hospitals and were treated for gunshot wounds. Daniel Sykes, a 34 year-old resident of Pacoima, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Lonnie Diggs, a 25 year-old resident of Pacoima, was treated at a local hospital and released. Felincia Brown, a 37 year-old resident of Pacoima, was admitted to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

Further investigation revealed the victims were shot by an unknown suspect who ambushed them as they were talking in front of the location.
