Kidnap results in Suspect Suicide

Los Angeles: As previously released on Monday, September 23, 2002, a press release was made regarding the violent kidnap of Nacole Richardson by her former boyfriend, Henry Floyd.

As a result of the cooperative efforts of numerous law enforcement agencies in Southern California, at approximately 12:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2002, a Buena Park Police Department patrol unit located the vehicle parked at a motel in the City of Buena Park. It was verified that the suspect and victim were inside a motel room and telephonic contact was made with the suspect.

Through the negotiation efforts at the scene, the victim was released unharmed, however the suspect remained barricaded in the motel room. Despite the continuous negotiations, tragically the suspect committed suicide at approximately 6:30 a.m., with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Buena Park fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the suspect dead at scene.

The kidnap is being investigated by Devonshire Area Detectives.

The investigation of the incident at the motel and suicide is being conducted by the Buena Park Police Department 714-562-3902.
