Narcotics Deal Leaves One Dead

 

Los Angeles: On Tuesday, September 23, 2003, at about 4:20 a.m., Devonshire Area patrol officers responded to a radio call regarding shots being fired in the 14700 block of Parthenia Street.

When Officers arrived they saw 21 year-old Carmelo Herrera Perez a resident of Panorama City lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced Perez dead at the scene.

Preliminary witness information indicated the murder was the result of an apparent narcotics deal gone badly. There are no suspects in custody at this time.
