Los Angeles – On Thursday, May 3, 2001, at 7:15 A.M., Harbor Community Police Station will host and observe the 50th Anniversary of the National Day of Prayer. Community leaders and civilians are encouraged to join the Los Angeles Police Department while they host this event for the first time.
Police officers and their police chaplains will pray to seek wisdom of God to stop the violence. Police Chief Bernard C. Park and Harbor Area Captain Paul M. Kim will be joined by Pastor Ed Beardsley, Father Frank Hinks, and Rabbi Gila Katz for the National Day of Prayer.
This event will be conducted around the flagpole in front of the Harbor Community Police Station. Officers from various police agencies will also be participating in the National Day of Prayer.
