Pedestrian Struck by Hit and Run Driver While Crossing the Street NR11548rh

Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department South Traffic Division detectives are looking for a driver who killed 62-year-old Larry Dean Hughes, a Los Angeles resident, in a hit-and-run collision.

On November 21, 2011, around 5 a.m., Hughes was walking southbound on Normandie Avenue at Exposition Boulevard in a marked crosswalk, when a driver in a white Ford Mustang with tinted windows,travelling northbound on Normandie Avenue made a right turn onto Exposition Boulevard and collided into the pedestrian.The driver continued eastbound on Exposition Boulevard, failing to stop, render aid or to identify self as required by law.Hughes was severely injured, incapacitated, and left in the roadway.  

Hughes was struck by a second driver travelling eastbound on Exposition Boulevard, who stopped to render aid and to identify self. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.  Mr. Hughes was on his way to work at the time of this horrific incident.
