West Valley Searches for Murder Suspect

LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT
PRESS RELEASE
Wednesday, November 4, `1998

On November 4, 1998, at 10:45 p.m., West Valley officers responded to an ambulance shooting radio call in the 23200 block of Ingomar Street in West Hills. Upon their arrival, the officers were met by the occupants of a single family residence who had called the police after hearing gunshots in their driveway. The officers noted that a male white in his 30's and a female white in her 20's were lying in the residence driveway and both had sustained gunshot wounds. Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the male dead at the scene. The female victim was transported to a nearby hospital where she was admitted in critical condition.

The investigation has revealed that the two victims had driven up to the home where the male victim resided when a lone gunman ran up to their vehicle and opened fire on them. The unidentified suspect then fled.

The deceased victim has been identified as 36 year old Jamie Edward Navaroli. The identify of the hospitalized female has been confirmed but is not being released at this time for security reasons.

The motive for the shooting is unknown. No arrests have been made and the investigation is continuing.
