On May 17, 2007, West Valley Area Detectives began investigating a Grand Theft crime in which unknown suspect stole an electric powered scooter from an elderly gentlemen' s vehicle. The scooter was very special to this elderly gentleman.

Detectives obtained a video of the suspect committing the crime. During the investigation, the detectives noticed that he matched the description of a suspect who was arrested on May 29, 2007, for another theft. On June 28, they recovered the stolen scooter from an apartment in the area of Mason Avenue and Saticoy Street, near the location of the original crime. The victim was notified and he was ecstatic that his scooter was recovered.

Plans have been made to present and return the scooter to the victim.

For further information contact Detective James Thornton at 818-374-7756, or Detective Andy Purdy at 818-374-7752.
