99 Cents Robbers Caught on Camera

Los Angeles:  Wilshire Area Robbery Detectives are asking the public’s help in identifying two suspects who were caught on surveillance camera while robbing the “99 Cents” store located at 601 South Fairfax Avenue.

On October 9, 2008 at around 9:30 p.m., the suspects entered the location armed with handguns and ordered the employees to a rear storage room.  Suspect-1 ordered the manager to open the safe.  The manager opened the safe and gave Suspect-1 the money that was inside.  The suspects also removed personal property from the store employees.

Suspect-1 is described as having black hair and brown eyes, standing 5’ 6” tall and weighing about 160 lbs.  He is approximately 16 years of age with pierced ears, wearing a blue sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Suspect-2 has black hair and brown eyes, standing 5’ 9” tall and weighing about 180 lbs.  He is approximately 22-24 years of age, and was wearing a multi-colored flannel jacket and jeans.

The suspects should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information or recognize these suspects is asked to call Wilshire Area Robbery Detective Natalie Humpherys at 213-922-8205.  After hours or on weekends, calls may be directed to a 24-hour, toll-free number at 1-877-LAPD-24-7 or by texting CRIMES (274637) and beginning the message with the letters LAPD.  Tipsters may also submit information on the LAPD website www.lapdonline.org.  All tips will remain anonymous.
