Attempted Murder, Kidnapping, & Robbery Suspects Arrested NR15876ml

West Hills: Los Angeles Police Department Topanga Area detectives have arrested two individuals for Attempted Murder, Kidnapping & Robbery.

On October 4, 2015, at about 1:45 a.m., LAPD Topanga Area Patrol Officers responded to a radio call of an “Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Shots Fired” in the 22900 block of Vanowen Street, in the West Hills area of Los Angeles.

Upon the officers arrival, they located Joel Ravin, a 30 year old resident of West Hills, brother of Los Angeles Dodger Pitcher Josh Ravin, in the rear alley.

Mr. Ravin sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was listed in critical condition. Topanga Area Homicide detectives assumed investigative responsibility of the case due to the severity of the victim’s injuries.

On October 20, 2015, Topanga Area Homicide detectives, with assistance from several specialized units, located an identified suspect in the case, Randall Elmer Stinson, a 30 year old resident of Winnetka. Stinson was arrested for Attempted Murder, Kidnapping and Robbery.

On November 2, 2015, a second suspect in the case, James Baggett, a 28 year old resident of Panorama City, turned himself in to Van Nuys Court on the warrant issued for his arrest.
