Shooting in Venice Leaves One Dead NR19136rc

Venice: The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) involved in the murder of 29-year-old Lavell Harris, a resident of Los Angeles.

On May 20, 2019, around 3:30 p.m., Pacific area patrol officers responded to numerous calls of, “Shots Fired”, at Fifth Avenue and Broadway in the Venice area. When officers arrived, they found Harris in the parkway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and was unresponsive.

The Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced Harris dead at scene.

According to a witness, there were four male blacks wearing hoodies and left in a dark sedan northbound on Fifth Avenue.
