Homicide Detectives Need Public’s Help

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department’s West Los Angeles Area Homicide Detectives are investigating the murder of 20 year-old Zaw Htet, who was discovered stabbed to death on July 10, 2003, at about 11:15 p.m., in the alley behind Corning Street and Pico Boulevard. Htet was from Myanmar and was attending Santa Monica City College on a student visa.
The detectives are attempting to locate John Aye Ko, also from Myanmar, as a person of interest. Ko is described as a 28-32 year old male, 5’ 7", about 135 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. Ko may be driving a light colored Toyota Camry. He may also be traveling with his pregnant wife, Mona, described as a 30-40 year old female Indian. She is about 5’ 0" to 5’ 4" tall with long dark hair.
