Los Angeles: On Tuesday, March 4, 2003, detectives assigned to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Sexually Exploited Child Unit, arrested and booked Christopher Biron, a 53 year-old, male for Penal Code Section 647.6 (A) (Child Annoying) and Penal Code Section 272 (Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor). Biron is an art teacher at Cleveland High School and 20-year employee of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
According to the victim, a 10th grade Cleveland High School Art Student, in May 2002, he responded to a request from Biron to pose alone for him after school in a classroom. In return for the student posing in only his underwear, Biron paid the student $20.00 per hour. Following the initial disclosure by the victim, Los Angeles Unified School District officials placed Biron in a clerical capacity, pending completion of the criminal investigation.
Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Sexually Exploited Child Unit conducted an investigation. Based on the results of the investigation, a search warrant was secured. Detectives searched and seized evidence at Biron’s apartment; evidence reflecting a sexual interest in young boys the age of the students in Biron’s class.
Based on the evidence seized, an arrest warrant was issued for Biron’s arrest.
