"South Traffic Detectives Investigate a Fatal Traffic Collision"
 

Los Angeles: On Tuesday, December 4, 2001, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred on 111th Street and Broadway in Southeast Division. The collision occurred when a dark and a black-colored car raced side-by-side southbound on Broadway toward 111th Street. As both cars raced toward 111th Street, the driver of a red car traveling northbound on Broadway began to negotiate a left turn to go westbound on 111th Street. It was then that the black-colored car collided with the right passenger door of the red car. The drivers of both the black car and the red car were both transported to local hospitals. The driver of the red car succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead by hospital personnel. The driver of the black vehicle is being held, and charges are pending.
The dark-colored car has not been identified nor do Detectives have a description of the driver of the dark-colored vehicle.
