First meeting to be held in Cypress Park on October 16, 2001

To learn the community’s concerns and ideas, the members of the Board of Los Angeles Police Commissioners have reinstated evening meetings in the community. These meetings will be held quarterly throughout the City of Los Angeles. The public is encouraged to attend and share their thoughts on crime, the Department’s efforts in combating crime, community policing, or whatever they would like the Commission to know. The first meeting will feature Councilmember Ed Reyes who was eager to invite the Police Commission to his district. The meeting will be held in the Cypress Park area:

The members of the newly-appointed Police Commission see community meetings as an integral component of their responsibility which is to oversee the Los Angeles Police Department on behalf of the people of Los Angeles.
