CRIME ALERT – ATTEMPT RAPE

The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public’s help in obtaining information regarding a vicious sexual assault suspect in the East Los Angeles area.

The crime occurred on October 27, 1998 at approximately 11:00 a.m. in the 2300 block of Barlow Street, in the Hollenbeck area. As the victim walked through the subterranean parking garage of her apartment complex, the suspect approached the victim. He viciously beat and choked her into unconsciousness.

As she regained consciousness, the suspect was fondling the victim and had removed several articles of the victims clothing. It is uncertain if the suspect completed an act of rape, due to the fact that the victim had lost consciousness for a short period of time.

SUSPECT INFO:

Male Hispanic; Black hair; Brown eyes; 5′ 9" tall, 165 pounds; approximately 25 to 30 tears of age; with a tattoo on his chest.
