Country Music Singer LeAnn Rhimes Joins D.A.R.E. America and D.A.R.E.

On Tuesday, October 5, 1999 at 10:00 A.M., D.A.R.E. America in conjunction with Los Angeles Police Department D.A.R.E. Division will host an educational celebration at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. This event, celebrating the D.A.R.E. program’s 17th year, will feature Country Music singer LeAnn Rhimes who will also be celebrating her seventeenth birthday.

Ms. Rhimes, a former D.A.R.E. graduate, is currently touring the United States and performing commercial concerts in all major metropolitan cities except Los Angeles. Due to Ms. Rhimes’ support of D.A.R.E. ideology, she will be making her only appearance within Southern California at this event in honor of students, educators, police officers and others who reach out and help children.

Approximately 25,000 students from Los Angeles Unified School District and numerous counties throughout Southern California are expected to be in attendance. Additionally, Governor Gray Davis, Chief Bernard Parks, Glenn Levant, President of D.A.R.E. America, and General Barry McCaffrey. There will also be scores of Chiefs of Police and County sheriff officials, and other notables from throughout Southern California.
