Hollenbeck Area: The Los Angeles Police Department Central Bureau Homicide detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for the shooting death of a 14-year-old victim.

On January 27, 2024, at around 5:30 p.m., Hollenbeck Area patrol officers responded to an Assault with Deadly Weapon in progress radio call in the area of Pecan Ave. & 1st Street.

When the officers arrived, they found a 14-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the crime scene and despite lifesaving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at scene. Although this investigation is ongoing, detectives believe the motive for this shooting appears to be gang related.
