"15 Year-Old Victim is Shot While Riding His Bicycle"

Los Angeles – On Thursday, July 6, 2000, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Southeast uniformed patrol officers responded to a radio call of " Shots Fired" in the area of 104th Street and Compton Avenue. Upon officers arrival they found the victim, a 15 year-old, male, Black, suffering from gunshot wounds.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was riding his bicycle southbound on Compton Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) approached the victim on Compton Avenue and fired several rounds from unknown type handgun(s) striking the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital by LAFD rescue ambulance, where he is listed in critical condition.

The motive for the incident is unknown at this time.
