17-Year-Old Shot and Killed in Broad Daylight

Los Angeles: 77th Area Homicide Detectives are investigating a shooting incident that resulted in the death of Donovan William Simmons, a 17-year-old resident of Los Angeles. The shooting occurred on Monday morning, March 31, 2003, at approximately 11:55 a.m.

The victim was at the southeast area of the Shell Service Station parking lot, located at 4400 South Western Avenue, when unknown suspects shot him. The victim was transported by a Los Angeles City Fire Department Rescue Unit to USC Medical Center where he died as a result of his wounds.

The motive is unknown at this time. The suspect(s) and weapon(s) remain outstanding.
