19-year-old Driver Killed in Traffic Collision NR21116wc

Northridge: On April 22, 2021, around 2:05 pm, a 2021 Maroon Hyundai Genesis was traveling southbound on Winnetka Avenue at an unsafe speed when it ran a red light and collided with a 2006 Silver Toyota Tacoma making left turn at Nordhoff Street. The Maroon Genesis continued in a southwestern direction and collided with a traffic signal device before coming to rest against a wall.

Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transported the driver of the Genesis to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The decedent is a 19-year-old male resident of Roslindale, Massachusetts. The decedent’s name will be withheld until proper notification to his next of kin.

The driver of the 2006 Toyota Tacoma, a 25-year-old male resident of Granada Hills, California was not injured in this traffic collision.

This investigation is still ongoing.
