20 Year-Old Dies from Gang Shooting

Los Angeles: On February 9, 2003, at 8:00 p.m., the victim, 20 year-old Jesus Quintero, was standing in the playground area just inside the Jordan Down Public Housing Development. Apparently, the victim became involved in a dispute with several other males. One of the males produced an unknown type firearm and began shooting at the victim. The victim was struck in his upper torso as he was fleeing from the suspects. Quintero collapsed in the street in front of 2039 East 97th Street. Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead at the location. The motive is possibly gang-related.
