"20 Year Old Dies In Possible Asian Gang Shooting"

Hollywood – On October 8, 2000, at approximately 3:38 am, a 20 year old male Vietnamese was shot in front of the Signature Club which is located at 1325 North Vine Street. The victim had just walked out of the club and was being picked up by his brother and a friend. Several male Asian suspects fired at the victim who possibly returned fire. The victim was struck and fell to the ground. He was placed in his friends vehicle and transported to Garfield Hospital in Monterey Park. The victim died as a result of his wounds. The suspects fled southbound on foot and are still being sought. Two weapons were recovered at the crime scene.

The victim has been identified as Thanh Tran, a resident of Baldwin Park.
