20 Year-Old Man Shot and Killed

Los Angeles: Hollenbeck Homicide Detectives are investigating the shooting death of 20 year-old Daniel Mendoza, a resident of Los Angeles.
On July 22, 2003, at about 4:10 p.m., Mendoza was getting out of his vehicle in the 2400 block of East 2nd Street. A four-door, late model Nissan Altima with several male Hispanic occupants stopped in front of Mendoza. One of the suspects got out of the car, walked up to Mendoza and shot him several times. The suspect returned to the vehicle and sped away from the location.
Los Angeles City paramedics responded to the scene and transported Mendoza to a local hospital where he died as a result of his gunshot wounds.
The suspects have not been identified. No weapon was recovered. The suspects are only described as multiple male Hispanics.
