Why: $25,000 Reward for information leading to arrest of murder suspect who shot and killed Javier Cisneros during home invasion robbery
North Hollywood – On Friday, October 4, 2001, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Javier Cisneros was shot to death in a possible robbery near Saticoy Street and Denny Avenue. Preliminary information has led North Hollywood Homicide Detectives to believe that a suspect or suspects had expressed interest in purchasing Mr. Cisneros’ motorhome. The suspect(s) approached and met Cisneros then robbed and shot him with a shotgun.
The suspect is described only as a 20-30 year-old male Hispanic, approximately 5’8″ tall, and weighing about 160-200 pounds.
Detectives need more information about what happened and who the suspect is in this case. City Council President Alex Padilla will provide more information regarding the $25,000 reward being offered today by the City Council. The reward is for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible. All available details and a photograph of the victim will be made available at the press conference today.
