28 year-old Woman Killed in Gang Shooting

Los Angeles: On Friday August 8, 2003 at about 1:00 a.m., Devonshire Area patrol officers responded to a radio call reporting shots fired in the 17900 block of Roscoe Boulevard. Emergency personnel arrived within moments and located the lifeless body of a female Hispanic gunshot victim lying adjacent to the rear carport of an apartment complex. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Preliminary witness information indicated the murder was the result of an apparent gang-motivated drive-by shooting.
The victim was struck multiple times in the upper and lower body. She has been identified as Xiomara Lopez, a twenty-eight year-old resident of the apartment building behind which she was discovered.
