28,000 Masks Donated to the Los Angeles Police Department NR20292jl

November 22, 2020

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department will be distributing 28,000 branded face-coverings to the public in an effort to slow the spread of the deadly Covid-19 virus and to create positive non-enforcement contacts between our department and the communities we serve. The distribution of these masks was made by the generous donation from a Los Angeles based company, Co.Protect, the leader in Branded Protective Equipment (BPE) for organizations and businesses that help bring people and communities back together safely. Officers will be distributing these face coverings to any person in need. They are a neutral color and are branded with an “L.A.” logo. The masks come in adult and children sizes. Similar to our baseball card program, these keepsake face-coverings are distributed to the public in the hopes of encouraging compliance to slow the spread of the virus.

Grounded in one of our core values, “Service to Our Communities” this initiative is designed to strengthen the bonds with our community and as a gesture that we, community members and officers alike, are all Angelinos that care for one another and will don facial coverings to slow the spread of the virus. This is an opportunity to bridge a divide between the police and the public; to meet on common ground, reinforce our commitment to our communities’ safety, and clearly show our continued desire to foster a collaborative relationship with our primary stakeholders; the people we serve.
