$30,000 Reward Offered In Newton Division

Los Angeles – On Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at 2:00 p.m., Newton Homicide Detectives will be holding a press conference at Newton Station, 3400 South Central Avenue in Los Angeles. The purpose of this press conference is to request assistance from the public on the murder of Earlee Dorn. Detectives have obtained a $5,000.00 reward from the office of County Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke and a $25,000.00 reward from the office of City Council Rita Walters, for a total of $30,000.00. The victim’s family members will be present during the press conference.

On Saturday, October 28, 2000, at approximately 3:45 p.m., the victim, Mr. Earlee Dorn was found shot to death in his own delivery van. The van was found in the alley to the rear of 1298 East Martin Luther King Boulevard. Mr. Dorn was last seen alive on Friday, October 27, 2000, at approximately 4:00 p.m., attempting to sell vehicle accessories in the area of 29th Street and Central Avenue. Detectives believe that Mr. Dorn was murdered on October 27, 2000, between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
