37-Year-Old in Wheelchair Shot and Killed NR14128nv

Los Angeles:  Los Angeles Police Department 77th Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of 37-year-old Damon Leroy.

On Thursday, March 27, 2014, around 1:44 p.m., the victim was sitting in his wheelchair in the 6800 block of 11th Avenue, in the South Los Angeles area, when he was approached by a male Black in his 30’s.  After a five minute verbal conversation the suspect produced a handgun and shot the victim multiple times in the torso.

Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedics responded to the location and transported the victim to a local hospital for emergency medical treatment.  Despite life-saving efforts, the victim died as a result of his injuries a short time later.

The motive for the shooting is believed to be gang related.
