3rd Annual Officer Appreciation Day

On Friday, November 12, 1999, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the 77th Street Community will celebrate its "3rd Annual Officer Appreciation Day." This event is the community’s way of showing the officers of the 77th Street Area Community Police Station, its appreciation for the outstanding work and service they provide. To show support, citizens in the area wrap street light poles with blue ribbons and decorate the police station with more blue ribbons and balloons. The community also provides a spectacular no charge BBQ luncheon for all LAPD officers & civilians and is also open to California Highway Patrol, City Fire Department, and Sheriff’s employees. The luncheon is abundant, delicious and second to none! This event is a great example of how the Los Angeles Police Department and the community work together in a partnership and is a morale booster to all law enforcement officers involved.
