WHY:
On March 25, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a felony hit-and-run collision resulting in fatal injuries occurred at Hoover Street and 75th Street. The victim, Christian Lira, was riding an electric scooter southbound on Hoover Street, traveling parallel to south-facing vehicles parked along the west curb, when he was struck by a motorist who was also traveling southbound. The impact propelled Christian southward, causing him to collide violently with parked vehicles before falling onto the roadway. He was then run over by the same motorist, who fled the scene without stopping, identifying themselves, or rendering aid.

Video and images of the suspect vehicle will also be released, along with information regarding a $50,000 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person responsible for striking and killing Christian Lira.
