WHY:
On Thursday, January 27, 2022, at approximately 9:35 p.m., a male approximately 70 years of age was struck by a vehicle, while walking across Manchester Avenue and Van Ness Avenue in a marked crosswalk.

The unknown vehicle was traveling eastbound Manchester Ave and negotiated a left turn onto northbound Van Ness Avenue when it collided with the victim.

Suspect’s vehicle then fled northbound Van Ness Avenue and failed to render aid to the victim and/or identify themselves. The victim died from his injuries.

The vehicle is described as a dark colored, early model truck with tinted windows.
